6 Strange (but True) Weight Loss Tips
It
seems that there's a new crazy diet introduced every day. Most of them
don't work, but these weird (but true) weight loss tips just might help
you lose those last few pounds.
1. Drink warm water
Most
of us prefer drinking cold water over the warm varietal, but if you're
looking to lose weight, you might want to rethink your beverage
temperature.
If you can't fathom warm water, try adding an herbal tea bag to give it a little flavor.
2. Watch Less TV
Most
of us know that we eat more (and consume more calories) if we eat our
meals while we are distracted (watching TV, on the computer, reading,
etc.). But this idea of watching TV goes beyond watching while eating.
Watching less TV in general helps you lose weight...because you burn
more calories!
You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching TV so...read, go for a walk or go to bed instead of watching TV for hours on end.

3. Don't Eat in PJ's
This is a depressing one for me as I'm the kind of person who changes into "comfy" the minute I walk in the door.
Studies have shown that we eat and snack more if we're wearing loose (and elastic!) clothes.
My compromise? Choose tighter clothing (like leggings, yoga pants and tank tops) so that you can be comfortable but still feel your waist.
4. Eat More Bacteria
Bacteria
plays a big role in our metabolism and appetite, so some think that by
increasing the amount of probiotic-rich foods you eat (aka bacteria)
you'll be able to lose weight without cutting calories.
The only research is anecdotal so far and while I'm a huge proponent of good bacteria balance, I'm not sure it will help you lose weight.
5. Add Some Spice

Recent studies have shown that when you consume foods that are spicy, specifically cayenne pepper, your metabolism increases.
After the pepper was consumed, less calories were taken in at the next meal and its also been shown to slow the growth of fat cells.
It's time to start adding more spice!
6. Drink Wine

Obviously,
I saved the best for last! For reasons that researches don't completely
understand, women who drink one or two glasses of wine a day put on
fewer pounds than those who don't.
Those who sipped wine, took in fewer calories but be sure you don't go over two glasses (servings really, which is 5 oz) or you'll inevitably take in more calories than you want.

World's tallest female dog Morgan passes away
Owned by Dave and Cathy Payne, of Ontario, Canada, the Great Dane weighed in at 90.7-kg (200-lb) and would eat seven cups of dry food (kibble) and two cups of wet food every day.
Morgan was the third dog to hold the record of ‘Tallest Female Dog’ since the category began in 2012. She beat the previous record holder, Bella, by 3.22cm (1.25 in).
The gentle giant first appeared in the ‘Stop Press’ section of the Guinness World Records 2014 book before appearing in the 60th anniversary edition which was released in September. Morgan is pictured alongside Zeus who is the tallest dog ever with a height of 1.118 m (44 in) and was measured in October 20011. Zeus sadly passed away in September.
According to Morgan’s owner, Cathy Payne, Morgan had a mild-mannered nature, except when it comes to squirrels, which she loves to chase!
Morgan is said to have died from a heart attack on Wednesday.
Michael Whitty, Picture Editor at Guinness World Records said: “I had the great pleasure of meeting Morgan and her lovely owners David & Cathy when we organised for her to meet Zeus (the Tallest Male Dog) for a photo shoot. Morgan was so very sweet and good natured, even when surrounded by swarms of hugely excited local kids, and a natural in front of the camera. I’m very sad to hear of her passing. ”
'Barcelona wouldn't buy a fat man' - Tabarez hits back over Suarez fitness fears
The veteran Uruguay coach says the suspended striker is still at his peak and selected him for next week's friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Oman
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has hit out at suggestions that Luiz Suarez is overweight by insisting Barcelona wouldn't "buy a fat player".
The Barca striker is finally set to make his Liga debut later in October following a four-month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at this year’s World Cup.
He was also hit with eight-match suspension from competitive internationals but was named in the Uruguay squad for next week’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Oman by Tabarez.
The South American nation's trainer swatted aside criticism over Suarez's fitness fears and insisted that the ex-Liverpool striker still has a major role to play for his country.
"I cannot imagine that a club like Barcelona would buy a fat player,” Tabarez, who has just extended his contract through to the 2018 World Cup, told reporters.
"He is in his best footballing years and, beyond his mistakes, he has everything needed to succeed.
"I believe it is important for Luis Suarez to keep in contact and training with the national team despite the ban, not only for him but for the national team overall and his team-mates.
"We have to see the things positively, because given his circumstances he could be given a ban reduction.
"Eventually at some point of the World Cup qualifying campaign we will have a fantastic addition to the national side in Suarez and we should look at it from that point of view."

It's now or never for Menez at Milan
The Under-17 European Championship in 2004 was an important milestone in French football. Not only did the youth team win the tournament on home soil, they did it in style sweeping aside every opponent en route to beating Spain that had the likes of Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas in their ranks.
More importantly though, a certain quartet within the group gave rise to what would later be referred to as ‘Generation 1987’ - future flag bearers of the senior team still dependent on the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry.
While Hatem Ben Arfa and Karim Benzema moved up the ranks that year to join Lyon’s senior team, Samir Nasri did the same at Marseille. Jeremy Menez however, ignored interest from Sir Alex Ferguson who wished to bring the 16-year old to Manchester United and instead stayed with Sochaux becoming the youngest footballer to sign a professional contract in Ligue 1 history.
Each one of them has since left France to play abroad – Benzema to Real Madrid in 2009, Nasri to Arsenal in 2008, Menez to Roma in 2008 and Ben Arfa to Newcastle in 2010 – but despite the early promise they have all failed to live up to their initial hype.
Benzema has failed to consistently justify the hefty price tag in the Spanish capital, while Ben Arfa is out on loan at Hull City in the Premier League having fallen out with manager Alan Pardew at Newcastle. Nasri impressed at Arsenal and is a prominent member of Manchester City but his off-field antics have not really matured him into a player who could be permanently trusted. He's frozen out of the France squad for the foreseeable future, too.
Given the talent though, Menez has been the most disappointing.
While Benzema, Ben Arfa and Nasri made their debut for the Les Blues in 2007 under Raymond Domenech, it was only until Laurent Blanc took over after the 2010 World Cup debacle that Menez finally received a national call-up – six years after that sparkling show with the Under-17s.
Having signed with Roma prior to the 2008-09 season, much was expected of the then 21-year old prodigy but lack of commitment and work ethic meant he never really established himself in the Italian capital. The versatile winger who is equally capable with either foot, was heavily criticised by coaches Claudio Ranieri and later Vincenzo Montella for a lack of effort during training and “lazy” performances on the field.
The criticism seemed justified as he failed to make a difference and under their new American ownership, Menez was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for a mere €8 million in the summer of 2011. Back home with a fresh opportunity to restart a career that was going downhill, he did make a bright start to life at the French capital under Antoine Kombouare and later Carlo Ancelotti. With seven goals and 13 assists in the league, 2011-12 has been his best season till date.
Carrying his form to the European Championship that summer in Ukraine and Poland, Menez was one of the few bright spots of Laurent Blanc’s French team that went out in the quarter finals against eventual winners Spain. That tournament re-united him with the class of 1987, as Ben Arfa, Benzema and Nasri were all part of the squad.
However, with the arrival of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Menez once again found himself on the fringes of a squad that was now brimming with expensive super star signings. Moreover, the €35m singing of Lucas Moura further dented his chances at the Parc des Princes even though he did manage to build some chemistry with Ibrahimovic as PSG lifted their first league championship since 1993-94.
But Edinson Cavani – the marquee signing of the Parisians in 2013 – was the final nail in the coffin of his career with the high-spending French club. As Laurent Blanc tried to slot the former Napoli centre-forward on the wings to accommodate him alongside Ibrahimovic in his favoured 4-3-3 formation, Menez was reduced to a handful of appearances last season.
Absent from the national scene in a World Cup year, it’s fair to say the former Roma player had disappointed again as his contract with the French champions came to an end this summer.
AC Milan, however, saw an opportunity.
Undergoing a massive transformation under new manager Filippo Inzaghi and struggling financially, the Italians were quick to have the winger on board in June.
Sceptical of this move by the seven-time European champions, critics were abject over what exactly Menez would provide to the Rossoneri given his history. But the France international has silenced those voices.
With three goals in four appearances this season in the Serie A mostly as a ‘False No.9’, Menez is soon becoming a fan favourite. His audacious backheel against Parma was ridiculously brilliant, a reminder of what we know he is capable of but one that has been served with massive inconsistency. One of the better performers in the defeat against Juventus, he would have given Milan all three points away at Empoli but for his blistering shot from outside the box that hit the woodwork.
With Mario Balotelli gone and his replacement Fernando Torres yet to adjust to life in Italy, Menez has made the central position in the attacking trio of Inzaghi’s 4-3-3 his own. Too early to suggest he has turned a page but it’s a good start at least.
At 27, the talented forward still has time to resurrect his career and regain his status as the gem of ‘Generation 1987’ but much depends on how he takes it from here.
With Stephan El Sharaawy perceived to be the future on the left wing, Menez faces increased competition from Torres, a rejuvenated Keisuke Honda and Giacomo Bonaventura for the remaining two spots in the attacking third. Not to forget as Inzaghi has stressed several times, they also have M'Baye Niang and Giampaolo Pazzini waiting in the wings.
It’s paramount for ‘Superpippo’ to give the former PSG forward ample playing time and make him feel important, something he has done brilliantly so far. However, it’s equally important of Menez to give his coach constant justification to cement his place as a starter for the remainder of the season. For that, he will have to maintain his sparkling start to life at the San Siro.
There have been past examples of players like Robinho and Antonio Cassano, who despite early indications of having turned a corner at Milan, soon got back to their old ways and Menez surely does not want to be a part of that group.
Menez needs to focus and with Milan looking to get back to the pinnacle of Italian football, this is his chance to finally realise his full potential. Perhaps, it’s his only chance as it would be hard to take him seriously if he were to fail with the Rossoneri.
For a player who came to light with a European Championship on home soil a decade ago, life may just come full circle in two years time as France get ready to host the senior Euros in 2016.
Fondly nicknamed Houdini by Roma fans after the famous Hungarian stunt performer, the chance to get back into the national team should be a big enough reason for the attacker to make the best of this fresh start.
Kim Kardashian Inspires Sky-High Giuseppe Zanotti Biker Booties: See a Picture of the Mrs. West Shoes!
Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti named a bootie after Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian owns tons of shoes — but these are personalized!
With her constant stream of fashion-forward looks, it was only a matter of time before the reality star became a muse.
Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti created a new boot called the “Mrs. West,” which was inspired by the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s endless shoe game.
The Mrs. West boot is a biker-inspired peep-toe bootie for the Rock
‘N’ Roll Capsule Collection. The shoe, released during Milan Fashion
Week to honor the brand’s 20th anniversary, features a large silver
plate over the upper exterior, and a skinny stiletto heel.
Kardashian, 33, is in good company. The exclusive collection also took inspiration from another pop culture figure: the “MJ” is a strappy stiletto inspired by, of course, Michael Jackson.
The Mrs. West boot will be available in stores and online in December.

Is Marriage Pressure to Blame? Jordin Sparks Takes a Shot at Jason Derulo's Breakup Comments
It’s becoming a he-said she-said battle of words in the breakup between Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo.
This round: Jordin Sparks, who’s taking down her ex’s comments about one of the reasons for their split.
Earlier this week, Derulo appeared on On Air With Ryan Seacrest to explain why the couple called it off after three years: “In a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons…There was a lot of pressures of marriage,” he revealed. Along the way, Derulo also shot down cheating rumors.
However, Jordin’s making us rethink her ex-boyfriend’s story: “I really don’t have a comment on anything that’s been said, ‘cause everything is that, it’s just words,” she told a paparazzo after being asked about the alleged marriage pressure.
In this post-breakup media battleground, it looks like anyone’s game. But for what it’s worth, Jordin appears to be taking the high road with her comments.
“I just wish him nothing but the best. I just want him to be successful,” the American Idol winner said, laughing and smiling in between questions.
But one thing’s for sure, and it’s that you won’t be finding the “No Air” singer on a certain dating app: “No Tinder, no any of those things, those are weird!” she exclaimed.
So, is Jordin Sparks or Jason Derulo being more truthful about their breakup? Let us know in the comments below!
Dani Alves: I'll play in England next season
The 31-year-old defender says he will move to the "home of football" at the end of his contract at Camp Nou in June
Barcelona full-back Dani Alves says he has agreed to join a Premier League club next season.
The 31-year-old was strongly linked with an exit from Camp Nou over the summer after entering the final 12 months of his contract in June.
The Brazil international, who has won 16 trophies at Barcelona since joining from Sevilla in 2008, is yet to receive an offer of a new deal and has now opted to embark upon a new chapter of his career.
"I am moving to England next year," he told Brazil's O Globo newspaper. "I am going to play in the home of football. This will be my last year at Barcelona."
Alves did not say which club he would play for, but the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the defender in the past.
Former Barca manager Pep Guardiola made Alves one of his first signings when he took over from Frank Rijkaard six years ago.
He had won five trophies in six years at Sevilla and continued his winning ways with the Blaugrana as he lifted La Liga and the Champions League in his first season.
Three more Liga titles have followed and Barca were crowned champions of Europe once again in 2011.
Alves has played 303 games for the club, scoring 20 goals and providing 85 assists.
15 Top Exercises to Increase Height
Height is something that many people strive for and it can be helpful
to get around your day. If you want to get a little taller but think
you are stuck with your current height, you may be wrong. With just a
few simple exercises you could increase your height and start reaching
for the stars.

This stretch is all about stretching out your spine and elongating the body. The more you do this stretch the more you will open up your back and increase your height. To perform this stretch you should lie on the face down and palms under your shoulders. Then arch your back by raising your chin to form an angle.
1) Swimming
Swimming is an exercise that requires plenty of stretching and reaching, which can gradually increase your height. However you will need to swim often and for long periods in order to see significant results. You should try and plan for two hours daily if you want to increase your height.2) Hanging Exercises
These exercises are just what they sound like. You will need to hang down from a bar and let your body stretch. You can also hang and then bring your legs up parallel to the ceiling to create and even better stretch. You will want to keep this up for several repetitions and several times a week.3) Touch Toes
It’s time to go back to these treasured years of gym class and touch your toes. If you can’t touch your toes, you’re not alone and just stretch as far as you can. If you missed gym class you perform this exercise by standing straight and then bending down to touch your toes. You should hold the stretch for a few seconds each time.4) Cobra Stretch
This stretch is all about stretching out your spine and elongating the body. The more you do this stretch the more you will open up your back and increase your height. To perform this stretch you should lie on the face down and palms under your shoulders. Then arch your back by raising your chin to form an angle.
5) Pelvic Shift
This exercise targets the spine and lower hips and is considered one of the most effective exercises for increasing height. To perform this lay flat on your back with your palms out to the sides. Keep your legs bent and slowly push your pelvis upward. Hold the pose for 20 to 30 seconds. Repeat this several times for best results.6) Leg Stretches
There are a number of different types of stretches for legs and any stretches that work the calves will be very useful in increasing height. One good calf exercise is to stand parallel to a wall and place your hands on the wall. Put your weight on your hands and then slowly move one leg closer to the wall. You should feel a stretch in your calf. Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds and repeat it a few times.7) The Table
For this exercise you are going to put your body into the shape of a table. While it sounds easy enough this is actually a difficult stretch that will work wonders for increasing height. Start by sitting on the floor with your legs stretched out. Then place your palms on the floor with your hands facing toward your feet. Next place your feet flat on the floor and push your torso upward until your body resembles a table8) Jump Rope
Jump rope is not only a school yard activity and a great way to remember songs, it is also a great exercise for stretching out the body, especially the lower legs. You will build up these muscles and stretch them out throughout the jumping motion. The more often you jump rope the sooner you will start to see results.9) Spot Jump
Jumping is an exercise that really stretches out the cartilage in the body, especially the legs. Repetition of vertical jumps or squat jumps can stretch out the cartilage so that the body gradually becomes taller. You can either do this as an individual exercise at home or you can play basketball in order to get plenty of vertical jumps into your workout routine.10) Dry Swim or Alternate Kick
This is a great way to get the stretching benefits of swimming even if you don’t have regular access to a pool. In order to complete this exercise you will need to lay on your stomach. Stretch your arms out in front of you with your right arm slightly higher than your left. Then with your legs stretched out raise your left leg up. Hold the position for several seconds before switching your arm and leg.11) Super Stretch
This is an easy and very good stretch for increasing height and reducing stress. Just stand upright and place your hands behind your head. Next bend your head upwards and back as far as you can. You should do this stretch slowly and hold each position for a few seconds. This will help stretch out your next and spine.12) Two Legs Straight Up
For this exercise you will need to lay flat on your back. Place your palms flat on the floor at your side. Then try and raise your legs toward the ceiling at the same time. Do the motion slowly and stretch your legs up until your pelvis slightly lifts off the ground. This is a great stretch for your legs and lower back. It is also a difficult stretch so it may take some practice.13) Forward Spine Stretch
This stretch is all about your back and calves. Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you. Now reach forward and try to touch your toes by arching your back. This is another way to stretch many of the same muscles in the toe touch and you should hold the position for several seconds.14) Pilates Roll Over
This may be a difficult move to master but it is well worth the effort. Lay on your back with your arms at your sides. Lift your legs together toward the ceiling just like the two leg lift. Next try and bring your legs back to touch the floor behind your head. There are few stretches that stretch your back out so completely. This works to strengthen and elongate the spine so doing this stretch every day will have great results for your height.15) Cat and Dog
These stretches will bring out the animal in you and have the ability to stretch your body an inch or two as well. Start on your hands and knees. Arch your back upward and lift while keeping your ads tight. Hold this position for a few seconds and then breathe out as you push your tailbone under. Hold this position and then repeat the stretch.Brooke Shields' MAC Collection Is Out Today—Shop Our Top 5 Product Picks (Including 2 To Get Her Brows!)
